Salt Lake City's MAIN library quickly became one of the city's main attractions.  This stunning building was designed by Moshe Safdie & Associates, and includes a crescent shaped east-facing wall, water features, public art, and shops.  The walls of glass and a rooftop garden allow breathtaking views. The library offers free internet and WiFi services. The sandstone plaza and beautifully manicured grounds are host to numerous events, including the annual Utah Arts Festival, Living Traditions cultural festival, and the SLC International Jazz Festival

Gallivan Center
The Gallivan Center
Housed within the library is the Salt Lake City Film Center.  The Center hosts weekly screenings of documentaries, independent films, public television program debuts, and special series that are free and open to the public. The Gallivan Center, located at 239 South Main Street, is one of downtown Salt Lake's busiest event venues.  Free summer events include the Come Alive Concert series (Wednesdays evenings, June through August) that features local music talent, and the Twilight Concert series (Thurs. evenings, July through August) featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians performing jazz, new country, and folk music.
